“Conservation of ecological niche in mammals: an assessment based on the ecophysiology, phylogeny and and time transfer of distribution models” under the supervision of Emilio Virgós (URJC) and Nuria García (UCM).
In this thesis I try to define whether species are plastic in the face of environmental challenges or, by contrast, their requirements are rigid and are constrained by suitable environmental conditions.
We focus our study in the Cabrera vole (Iberomys cabrerae) and target a time window of 126 000 years, which encompass strong climatic oscillations that likely affected the range and ecological traits of this species.
