The title of my thesis is “Latitudinal, regional and local patterns influencing size and distribution of macroalgae in a climate change scenario”.
The main goal of my thesis is to study the ecophysiology and biogeography of brown and red algae in a context of cliamte change. I have already collaborated in the experimental study of ecophysiological limits of European populations of macroalgae of the genera Fucus, Ascophyllum and Chondrus. I have also utilised records of algae in GBIF and TOBIS data bases and environmental data to model geographical distributions in SIG and using species distribution models with Maxent. These tools will be now applied to my thesis.
