Research lines

During my Ph D I studied the foraging behavior of the leaf-cutting ants, both in laboratory and in the field. Later, I investigated the effects of nutrition on the honey bee biology.  Currently, I am interested in understanding how the brain of social insects evolved within different social structures, and if those adaptations tuned the cognitive abilities of the individuals. Additionally, I study the role of macronutrients on insects’ behavior and cognition.
