In a scenario of climate change, the study of processes determining the presence and shift in distribution range of species is key to assess the response of the species.
Processes determining range size of species at broad geographic scales can differ from those at small scales. In general, biotic and dispersal-related processes are more important for expanding species, while abiotic are more influential for retreating species.
I will study these processes for species of algae in the genus Codium in the coast of N Spain.
