Research interests

Keywords: Oxidative stress, Free radicals, ROS, Aging.

My research interest is focused on the role of oxidative injury of cellular components and the role of mitochondrial oxygen free radicals in determination of aging rate and longevity of different animal species. Oxygen free radicals produced by mitochondria within cells cause cellular damage, leading to progressive and irreversible loss in function, and hence to aging. I study factors that determinate oxidative stress and aging rate in different animal species.
