Research interests
I am a molecular plant biologist. My research line aims to characterize the molecular mechanisms underpinning micronutrient metabolism and homeostasis in plants. Using model (Arabidopsis, rice) and non-model systems and a multidisciplinary approach that includes a combination of genetic, biochemical, cell biology, genomic and transcriptomic strategies, my research line will enhance our understanding of plant acclimation to changes in nutrient demands. This line not only covers a fundamental research question but will also facilitate the selection of crop varieties better suited to challenging environments. My current research interests are mainly centered on the study of the effects of plant domestication on micronutrient homeostasis.
